Large pair of Barum Art vases A.Lauder

Large pair of Barum Art vases A.Lauder

DescriptionStunning pair of large Arts & Crafts art pottery vases made by Alexander Lauder 1836- 1921. Lauder was a teacher at Barnstaple school when C.H Brannam was a pupil who later set up his own pottery. These vases are decorated with peacocks, fish, shells and birds of paradise to the lower part. The handles are in the form of grotesque dragons. These measure 43cmstall and 15cms diamemer at the base. The width at the handles is 35cms. They are offered on good condition without restoration or chips except one chip to one handle that has a chip to knee of dragon. There is some flaking which often occurs in early Lauder pierces due to the clay that was used at that time. Few vases still exist at this large size and rarely in pairs. Would only be delivered by a specialist courier or could be collected from Honiton.  DateArts & Crafts 1890  Price£750.00
